The Dental Council Examination for Dentists

The exam that stands between most non-EU dentists and the Irish register. Places are capped and allocated by random selection in a one-week January window, split 80% to applicants already established in Ireland and 20% to applicants outside it. Part 1 is three written papers and a bench test in Dublin; Part 2 is written papers, an OSCE and clinical vivas in Cork, roughly two months later. Several recognised routes avoid the examination entirely.
